President and CEO of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, Livingston and Saline
Robert Casalou joined Saint Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS) in October 2008 as the President and CEO, St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals-Ann Arbor, Saline, Livingston. Prior to coming to SJMHS, Rob served as President of Providence Park Hospital and was responsible for overseeing the construction of the 200-bed, full service teaching hospital in Novi that opened in 2008. Earlier in his career, he was President and CEO of Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, where he also held several positions since joining the organization in 1990. Before joining Providence, Rob was also a partner in R.A. Casalou, Inc., an independent automotive manufacturer sales representative company based in Southfield.
Rob serves as the chair of the Metro Detroit American Heart Association (AHA) Board and is also a member of the Midwest Affiliate Board for the Heart Association. He is vice chair of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan Board, and chair-elect of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association Board. In addition to his position on the MHA Board, he served as chair of the MHA Legislative Policy Panel and is a former member of the MHA Task Force on Hospital-Physician Alignment. Rob also serves as a member of the Integrated Health Associates Board and the Saint Joseph Mercy Health Partners Local and Clinically Integrated Network Boards.
Rob also serves as co-sponsor and member of the Washtenaw Health Initiative, is a member of the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Chamber Board and is a member of the Griffith Leadership Advisory Committee, University of Michigan School of Public Health. He is also a member of ACHE.
