  • Our Specialty
    Services
  • Family medicine is comprehensive health care for your entire family - from newborns to your most senior members. All our physicians are board certified or board-eligible in family medicine. Our family medicine physicians deliver a range of acute, chronic and preventive medical care while providing you with a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). PCMH patients and their family (when appropriate) establish a partnership with their practitioners to ensure they have the support and education needed to make decisions and participate in their own health care.
  • With a focus on preventive health and overall well-being, our internal medicine physicians and staff specialize in primary care for adults, and patients with acute and chronic multi-system diseases.
  • IHA offers nutrition counseling services at many of our practice locations. Nutrition counseling is provided by IHA nutrition specialists/registered dietitians. Their expertise can provide you with the necessary knowledge to achieve all of your individual and family dietary needs.
  • Pediatrics is a specialty concerned with the physical, mental, and social health of children from birth to young adulthood. Pediatric care encompasses a broad spectrum of health services ranging from preventive health care to the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. A pediatrician is able to define accurately the child’s health status and to serve as a consultant and make use of other specialists as consultants as needed, ideally in the context of, or in conjunction with, the physician-led medical home. Because the child’s welfare is heavily dependent on the home and family, the pediatrician supports efforts to create a nurturing environment. Such support includes education about healthful living and anticipatory guidance for both patients and parents. Newborn? Toddler? Teenager? Your kids are well-covered. From your very first visit, you'll notice that our pediatric services are some of the most advanced and up-to-date in all of Michigan.
  • IHA Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist Services works with primary care providers as a part of the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Through in-office and telephone appointments, they can help patients achieve optimal control of chronic conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Clinical pharmacists provide comprehensive medication review services including, adjusting current medications to ensure maximum safety and efficacy, ongoing monitoring and disease state education. They also work with you to set dietary and lifestyle goals to improve the management of your condition.
  • Primary care is general healthcare. It is a patient's first point of contact for their health needs. Patients develop lifelong partnerships with their Primary Care Provider (PCP). Your PCP takes ongoing responsibility for providing and managing comprehensive healthcare.

About The Practice

Welcome to IHA WestArbor Primary Care (formerly IHA Family & Internal Medicine - WestArbor)! We are a group committed to providing our patients with quality medical care for the entire family, from newborns to seniors. Our physicians have a special interest in promoting your family’s well-being through health education and disease prevention.

Along with our regular hours, we offer extended early and late hours several days a week.

IHA WestArbor Primary Care has been designated a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). PCMH patients and their family (when appropriate) establish a partnership with their practitioners to ensure they have the support needed to make decisions and participate in their own health care.

As a practice we know that preventive care, including vaccinations, is the most important part of our service to our patients and families. To best protect your children, our other patients, as well as our staff and providers from vaccine-preventable illness, we have made the decision to only accept families into our practice who plan to fully vaccinate their children according to the CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Family Physicians guidelines.
