Nuclear Cardiology
Nuclear cardiology is a special area of cardiology that uses imaging with the injection of radioactive dye to locate and evaluate heart disease, heart function and heart attack. Physicians have received advanced training to measure and evaluate blood flow to the heart, the heart’s ability to pump blood, and the location and extent of a heart attack. Doctors also use nuclear cardiology to determine a prognosis in people with heart disease.
